The Affordable Care Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Commonly known as Obamacare, this law put in place comprehensive health insurance reforms to allow consumers to take charge of their health care.
At the signing of the Affordable Care Act into law, President Obama said this law affirms “the core principle that everybody should have some basic security when it comes to their health care.”
